About The Blogger

Hi, I'm Alessa and welcome to my blog! Life After Breakfast is my food-travel-happythings&crafts journal. I began blogging in 2003 (alohalessa.blogspot), took a break in 2007, and then went back online in October 2011.

I live in Quezon City, Philippines, and am a graphic designer by education and profession, with clients mostly in the retail and restaurant industries. You can view my work portfolio here.

I'm a vegetarian (been so for 12+ years), and in October 2010, together with the Pino Group (my husband PJ, Chef Edward, Star), I opened a vegan restaurant PIPINO in Teachers Village, Quezon City. Pipino now has a second branch in Jupiter Street, Makati.

In the summer of 2000, I put up mobile art school Art Adventures, teaching arts and crafts programs that incorporate lessons about peace and environmental preservation to kids of all ages. Today, my workshops have evolved into one-day 'crafternoons', where I teach basics of watercolor, embroidery, rubber-stamping, calligraphy, and jewelry-making.

I live by the 80/20 rule, with a philosophy of 'Design to travel; Travel to design.' I'm currently obsessed with patterns, and draw inspiration from Philippine culture, clouds, the organic lifestyle, museum trips, foreign/local travel and train rides.
